Base Construction Supports Safety Beyond June

Posted on | Leave a Comment

Base Construction gladly promotes National Safety Month this June. The National Safety Council (NSC) has been encouraging safety for years and celebrates National Safety Month each June by providing safety training, workplace training, first aid training, defensive driver training, and more. On average, more than 13 people die from injury or accident each day while at work. The goal of the NSC is to significantly reduce that number through effective training. The organization has been around for over 100 years, providing support to companies and communities throughout the United States.

The NSC has found out that when employees feel safe in their work there is greater morale, increased productivity, fewer injuries, and lower costs to the employer. When employees take time off of work due to injuries, it costs the company money. New problems arise including slower production times and the possibility of overtime to covering workers already taking on longer days. Companies also save money not paying the legal fees that they do when employees are hurt on the job. The NSC can also provide free safety measurement tools for companies that are interested in creating a safer workplace.
