As a leading contractor in the industrial construction sector, we work with a very varied group of customers. Manufacturers from all markets trust us with their projects because of our experience, quality, and reliability to meet their requirements. One such manufacturer, Karma Automotive, is a client that has trusted us with multiple phases of their manufacturing operation expansion. Here is one example of the customization process through Base Construction.

Karma Automotive, a rapidly growing manufacturer of electric hybrid vehicles, was looking for space to expand their operations. Expansion plans included a state-of-the-art production facility to be built inside of an existing warehouse. Approximately 3,000 cars are to be produced annually at the updated facility.

The original production line was shipped from Finland, to be reassembled in the plant. To customize the structure, we developed a complex structural design to hold two assembly line tools for the car’s body and framework. Our engineers determined exact gravity calculations so that the heavy materials and structural components would balance correctly and safely as the pieces move through the production line.

The key to success when dealing with this kind of challenge is to work with our clients from inception of the project through completion. By starting at the design phase, our team goes through all possible problems and offers workable solutions. Many projects like this include customizing existing lines to meet specific goals. Our ultimate goal for each client and project is to supply and install equipment that speeds up assembly lines and improves manufacturing.

All of our skills, such as designing and installing piping systems, mechanical equipment setting, and fabrication and installation of structural steel, translate into customized projects with fast turnaround times and dependable results.
