2016: A Review

It’s December once again. Another year has passed, and we at Base Construction Inc. have celebrated our 18th birthday. As the holidays approach and we look ahead to 2017, we’re taking a look back at the past year’s many accomplishments. On our blog, we got the chance to cover a wide range of important topics.

We first wrote about safety this year in June, the National Safety Council’s National Safety Month. To keep operations running smoothly and keep workers healthy and safe, resourceful companies are constantly looking for ways to improve safety — both for their employees, their most valuable resource, and for clients.

As a result, we discussed work, road, and home safety, with a focus on the workplace. At Base Construction Inc., safety is our highest priority — both in our own facilities and at client worksites. In fact, not one of our employees has ever suffered a recordable injury in our entire 18 years of existence. In June’s safety blog, we also discussed how we helped a client — a major food processing company — quickly, effectively, and safely eliminate the risk of a bacterial contamination.

In October, we delved further into safety procedures and quality assurance, discussing Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and ANSI guidelines in regards to machine guarding. While it can be difficult for many manufacturers to implement thorough machine guarding solutions, we at Base Construction are proud to excel in this area.

In the springtime, we tackled environmental issues. April’s post spoke to California’s continued drought and its impact on the industrial construction sector — notably, the increase in hydroelectric power installations and desalination plants. And in May, we discussed a number of ways that Base Construction Inc. can help you reduce your company’s environmental impact. Both posts maintained relevancy as Earth Day was April 22nd this past year.

Throughout the year, we also discussed how to prep your facilities — particularly piping systems — for winter, detailed the high-quality standards we strive to achieve in each of our projects, and outlined several of our advanced capabilities.

2016 was a productive, rewarding year for us at Base Construction Inc., and we hope it was for you as well. We wish everyone a happy, healthy holiday season, and we’ll see you all in 2017!
